Juicing Recipes for Weight Loss

If you’re looking to lose weight quickly, burn fat, and feel great, look no further!  Our juicing recipes for weight loss are a simple and delicious way to jump start your weight loss efforts!

Not only is juicing a great way to lose weight, but it does wonders for the digestive system, helping you to enjoy smooth and regular bowel movements.  And simply by drinking at one glass of fresh pressed juice a day, you’ll find that the variety of fruits and vegetables you can explore will bring with them a variety of health benefits, as well.

We’ve long advocated green smoothies, but lately we’ve been obsessed with juicing.  They are both absolutely great for you, and simply a matter of preference.  Smoothies are obviously thicker, so you don’t get as many fruits and veggies (and that means less vitamins and enzymes, too), but you do get the insoluble fiber to make you feel a bit fuller.  With juicing, you still get the soluble fiber to help promote regular bowel movements, but it takes a lot more produce to generate a glass of juice, so you get a lot more vitamins and enzymes with less bulk.  That said, juicing is a bit more expensive, and if you do it often you’ll want to find some creative uses for all that pulp (I hate to see it go to waste!).

Really any juicing recipe is great for weight loss, but the ones we’ve collected here are a few of our favorites for their great taste and metabolism enhancing properties.  Enjoy!

The Grandmother (approx 16oz)

  • 1 Grapefruit (peeled)
  • 1 Cucumber (with skin, if organic)
  • 1 Pear
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Small Golden Beet
  • 2 Medium Stalks Celery
  • 1 Small Slice of Ginger Root

Scrub and peel as necessary, juice, stir and drink up!  The grapefruit will help you feel fuller longer and the cucumber tones down its acidity, while the pear and apple sweeten it just enough to make this one of our favorite morning drinks!

Fiesta Verde (approx 8-10oz)

  • 2 Medium Apples
  • 1 Bunch of Cilantro
  • 2 Cucumbers
  • 1/2 Lime (with rind, if organic)
  • 1/2 Medium Sweet Green Pepper

Scrub, juice and enjoy.  The cilantro will bring an added benefit of metal detoxification, and the capsaicin in the pepper will help ease any pain you might be feeling.

Peachy Keen (approx 24oz)

  • 3 Basil Leaves
  • 14 Carrots
  • 1/2 Lemon (with rind, if organic)
  • 5 Medium Peaches

Scrub and peel (if necessary).  For best taste, juice in this order: basil, lemon, peaches, carrots.
